Street photography
Street photography is more challenging form of photography. Difficult than getting best macro shot, or portrait shot. The photos need to have life in them. Techniques seldom matters in street photography as the scene is so dynamic and it doesn’t wait for anybody.
A successful street photography- or any photograph for that matter - is when eye, mind and heart come together. - Cartier-Bresson

Remembering birthdays!
I find it difficult to remember birthdays of dear ones so it is no surprise that I missed the birthday of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi yesterday. Today Google honours Edward Munch birthday by sporting his world famous cult painting The Scream!. I am a great fan of Munch and few works done that was inspired by Scream. The bigger versions are available at my Flickr pages.

It would be wonderful in Google.in did the same with Bharathi also. It could have sported the famous moustache of Bharathi on its home page and he deserves it. At least Google.in should have our Super Star Rajini on it’s home page today! Asking for Rajini’s photo on Google.in may be too much to ask for!

Why ?

- Why are burgers so thick ?
- Why are DVD players so complex to use ?
- Why are traffic so unpredictable ?
- Why people watch mindless teleserials ?
- Why people prefer Times of India over Hindu/Deccan Herald ?
- Why are tamil movies dubbed from telugu so funny ?
Thinking on the job
In my years at Bell labs, we worked in two-person offices. They were spacious, quiet, and the phones could be diverted. I shared my office with Wendl Thomis who went on to build a small empire as an electronic toy maker. In those days, he was working on the ESS fault dictionary. The dictionary scheme relied upon the notion of n-space proximity, a concept that was hairy enough to challenge even Wendl’s powers of concentration. One afternoon, I was bent over to program listing while Wendl was staring into space, his feet propped upon his desk. Our boss came in and asked, “wendl What are you doing?” Wendl said, “I’m thinking.” and the boss said, “Can’t you do that at home?”

Difficult people
These personalities may be easily recognizeable, as some of them will be our working with us.
- The Know-It-Alls. They are arrogant and usually have an opinion on every issue. When they are wrong, they get defensive.
- The Passives. These people never offer ideas or let you know where they stand.
- The Dictators. They bully and intimidate. They are constantly demanding and brutally critical.
- The Gripers. Is anything ever right with them? They prefer complaining to finding solutions.
- The “Yes” People. They agree to any commitment, yet rarely deliver. You cannot trust them to follow through.
- The “No” People. They are quick to point out why something won’t work. Worse, they are inflexible.
